Welcome to our school
Bishop Gore is a vibrant 11-18 learning community, one which is providing the highest quality of education to our pupils.
At Bishop Gore we place a strong emphasis on standards in all that we do as a school community. All pupils can expect the highest standard of learning opportunities whilst pupils need to respond with high standards as part of the community. Standards matter, not just in terms of results but in all that we do. The expectation is that all members of the Bishop Gore community work to achieve these high standards.

Our school motto is “Virtue and Good Literature”
Our aim is to provide the highest quality learning opportunities for all pupils, recognising that all pupils have diverse needs and to that end we seek to develop a personalised approach to learning. We want to provide our pupils with the opportunities to become leaders, in order that they may face the inevitable challenges of the world outside with confidence and robustness. Our learning should reflect the demands of the changing face of the Twenty First Century but recognise all that is good of the past. We strive to be a learning community that recognises not only the importance of success in terms of grades and levels but also success in taking part in the wide variety of enrichment activities on offer.
At Bishop Gore we work hard to ensure that all of our pupils get a rounded experience. Life outside the classroom is vibrant; we passionately believe that school life is about providing as many opportunities as possible outside the formal learning environment. Our range of additional opportunities are rich and varied, for example, we are renowned for our high quality performing arts and sporting activities and these continue to be a strong feature of our provision.
We value the richness of the different cultures which make up our community and seek to celebrate these throughout the school. All members of our school community are treated with respect and in turn, all work to achieve the high standards in all aspects of school life that are important to Bishop Gore.
